Magic System Info
In a world full of magic, how exactly does it work? How do people use it? What allows magic to spurt from finger tips? In this article I will explain the topic as best as I can.
Biologically
The human body (in my world) has threads. These threads wrap around the heart like a sheath called the 'Divina Licio' and follows the paths of blood and muscles. The threads can appear as liquid in the body per their size and density. By manipulating them (pulling, tightening, unraveling, or guiding them), you can perform magic. Since the Divina Licio is around the heart, emotions and physical conditon can impact how magic comes out. If the mage is very upset or hurt, the threads can tangle, fray, or flare which will cause their spells to be very weak, unstable, or overwhelming.
Regen
These threads can be regenerated by eating. The world was made by the gods and their magic therefore, everything has magic. The nutrients in food has magic and returns to the Divina Licio. Overeating does not mean infinite magic and starving means magic failure. Overusing magic will result in being fatigued. Magic can be released along with sweat, breath, tears, blood, and through the pores and eyes.
Growth
How do mages get stronger? Magic thread grows like muscles. It lengthens through use, thickens under strain, and braids through conflict.
Flow makes magic easier, but only pressure makes it stronger.
Magic Use
Magic is neutral. The way people decide to use it and make spells is what creates creative and unique spells. Mages can attempt to copy spells but will never be the same. Every ability, the way threads flow, thread tension, emotions, and experiences can make results differ. That also means that with life views and the way you think can cause mages to change, improve and grow their spells/abilities.
